The National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Awards Ceremony and Research Symposium is an annual event organised by NMRC Office, MOHH, to recognise the achievements of outstanding clinicians and researchers. It also provides an opportunity for the research community to learn from and interact with one another.

Established in 1994, the NMRC has been at the forefront of overseeing, co-ordinating and funding medical research in Singapore, even before the launch of Singapore's Biomedical Science initiative in 2000. Today, NMRC supports the Research, Innovation and Enterprise 2025 (RIE2025) initiative and remains committed to promoting excellence in healthcare research, nurturing a vibrant research community of clinicians and scientists, and supporting enablers and infrastructure for better health and economic outcomes.

At the NMRC Awards Ceremony and Research Symposium 2024, Mr Ng How Yue, Permanent Secretary for Health Development delivered the opening address and congratulated the 67 outstanding individuals who were awarded the NMRC Talent Awards. Additionally, it was announced that five research projects under the RIE2025 Open Fund-Large Collaborative Grant programme were awarded a total quantum of about $95 million by the Ministry of Health, through the NMRC Office, MOHH.
