NMRC Awards Ceremony and Research Symposium 2025
Themed “Research for A Better Future”, the annual National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Awards Ceremony and Research Symposium 2025 recognised recipients of the NMRC Talent Awards from the 2024 grant calls, featured insights from distinguished speakers, and facilitated knowledge exchange among clinicians, scientists, and researchers from healthcare institutions, academia, and industry.
The annual National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Awards Ceremony and Research Symposium, organised by MOHH, took place from 28 to 29 May 2025. Themed “Research for A Better Future”, the event recognised recipients of the NMRC Talent Awards from the 2024 grant calls, featured insights from distinguished speakers, and facilitated knowledge exchange among clinicians, scientists, and researchers from healthcare institutions, academia, and industry.
The event was graced by Ms Lai Wei Lin, Permanent Secretary (Policy and Development), Ministry of Health, who announced the award of five research projects at a total of $105 million under the Open Fund-Large Collaborative Grant (OF-LCG) programme.
Supported by the National Research Foundation, Singapore under the Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) 2025 plan, the OF-LCG aims to bring together the best teams from public institutions to advance human health and wellness, as well as create economic value for Singapore and Singaporeans, through the pursuit of excellence in research and its applications.
A special highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the inaugural NMRC Distinguished Contributor Award to Prof Ranga Krishnan and Prof Edward Holmes, honouring their outstanding contributions and enduring impact on Singapore’s healthcare research landscape.
MOHH will continue to support NMRC's ongoing commitment to supporting translational and clinical research, nurturing clinician scientists, and enabling collaborative biomedical research to improve health outcomes in Singapore and the region.
