As the holding company for Singapore’s public healthcare institutions, MOHH is committed to supporting the nation’s sustainability agenda to pursue and achieve sustainable development for the city-state.
Developing the sector’s commitment to sustainability
MOHH plays a pivotal role in driving sustainability across Singapore’s public healthcare ecosystem by providing strategic coordination, data consolidation, and policy alignment to support national decarbonisation goals amongst our public healthcare institutions.
Our sector-wide sustainability efforts include partnering our public healthcare clusters in organising educational symposiums to enable knowledge exchange, as well as tracking environmental performance across the public healthcare institutions, covering energy, water, waste, and other carbon metrics. We also facilitate the MOH Sustainability Steering Committee, coordinate annual submission of Resource Management Plans by our public healthcare institutions to the Ministry of Health, and support feasibility studies for infrastructure improvements.
MOHH is also preparing for International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) aligned sustainability reporting, which will require disclosures on climate-related risks, governance structures, and Scope 1-3 emissions. This further reflects MOHH’s commitment to embedding sustainability into financial and operational decision-making across its group entities.
MOHH Green Frontiers Framework
The MOHH Green Frontiers Framework provides guidance on embedding sustainability into healthcare infrastructure development. It focuses on achieving high-performance, low-carbon healthcare buildings through strategic design, technology adoption, and prevailing BCA Green Mark standards.
