MOHH's Healthcare Scholarships programme is designed to identify and support individuals who showcase dedication, promise, and a genuine interest in contributing to the realm of public healthcare. By providing these passionate individuals with opportunities, MOHH enables them to pursue mea​ningful healthcare careers that align with their unique passions and aspirations.

To officially recognise the achievements of these successful scholarship candidates and to pay tribute to their parents, family me​​mbers, principals and teachers who have supported them over the years, MOHH organises a Healthcare Scholarships Award Ceremony annually. 

In 2023, 161 awardees from 13 health science and other healthcare disciplines, including nursing, pharmacy, and allied health, received recognition for their achievements and as successful scholarship candidates.​​

There are seven different types of scholarships offered to help young talents journey towards a fulfilling career in healthcare. These include:

  • Healthcare Merit Award (HMA)
    This is awarded to promising students with strong academic track records and a passion to pursue careers in public healthcare.
  • Healthcare Graduate Studies Award (HGSA)
    This postgraduate scholarship is awarded to individuals who are keen to  join the public healthcare sector while demonstrating academic          excellence and community spirit. They will be part of a team of  healthcare professionals providing direct care to patients or they will work with policy makers or IT systems professionals to improve the  Singapore public healthcare system.
  • Singapore-Industry Scholarship (SgIS) for Healthcare Administration (HAS)
    This is awarded to students who wish to pursue a meaningful and        challenging career as a healthcare administrator in Singapore's public healthcare sector.
  • Integrated Nursing Scholarship (INS)
    This premier public healthcare scholarship scheme aims to nurture the next generation of nurse leaders.
  • PSC Scholarship (Medicine)/(Dentistry)
    The PSC (Medicine) and PSC (Dentistry) Scholarships are offered to existing local medicine and dentistry undergraduates and to those  currently pursuing their Doctor of Medicine (MD) studies at Duke-NUS  Medical School, to nurture and develop the next generation of leaders in the public healthcare sector.
  • Community Nursing Scholarship (CNS)
    To nurture the next generation of community nursing leaders, it is offered in partnership with the public healthcare institutions and community care providers.
  • Community Care Scholarship (CCS)
    Awarded to individuals with strong academic track records and a passion to lead and make a difference in community care.​
