The National Medical Excellence Awards (NMEA) 2024 recognised six individuals and two teams for their contributions in advancing healthcare, improving the standards of patient safety, driving research and education, and developing better health in the community, ultimately improving people's lives. Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health, presented the awards at the NMEA ceremony held on 24 September 2024.

This year's event saw the introduction of the new National Community Care Excellence Team Award, which recognises teams for significantly improving community health and promoting preventive care – a vital aspect of our evolving healthcare landscape in Singapore. In addition, the eligibility and criteria of the other award categories have been expanded to better recognise the contributions of healthcare professionals in preventive health and community care.

The NMEA 2024 was co-organised by the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Office, which is part of MOHH's Division of Research and Innovation, and the National Healthcare Group (NHG).
