With effect from 1 January 2017, and upon the expiry of their previous insurance or indemnity protection in 2017, all doctors and dentists employed by Singapore’s Public Healthcare Institutions (“PHIs”) are covered by the MOHH Medical Malpractice Insurance (“MMI”) programme for professional healthcare services conducted for or behalf of, or sanctioned by MOHH or PHI. Administered by Marsh Singapore (“Marsh”), the MMI covers claims for malpractice, negligence, disciplinary and regulatory matters.

DESCRIPTION
Provides cover for the damages/settlements in legal claims, as well as legal costs incurred in defending such claims.
Provides cover for the legal costs incurred in relation to investigations, e.g. medical council inquiries, coroners inquests etc.
Provides worldwide cover for performing emergency medical treatments.
Provides an extended notification period for work done while under employment of PHIs when doctors or dentists leave the public healthcare sector.
Worldwide excluding USA, but worldwide in respect of Good Samaritan acts, humanitarian work, overseas training and fellowship including but not limited to activities under the auspices of the Health Manpower Development Plan.
Short-term (up to 60 days) for overseas volunteer and/or charity work, humanitarian missions and similar activities.
