​​​Yes, that’s how many students the MOHH Scholarships team has welcomed into the healthcare fold this year. This is the second year in a row that more than 300 students were awarded! No wonder there was plenty of excitement and joy at the MOHH Healthcare Scholarships Award ceremony last month.

Held at the Raffles City Convention Centre, the event was attended by the new scholars as well as many proud parents. Minister for Health Gan Kim Yong, who was the guest-of-honour, encouraged the youngsters to take the opportunity to learn and share new ideas and experiences, as well as develop their skills and interests during their scholarship journey.

“Do all this with the patient at the centre. We will continue to partner, support and develop you in this journey to realise your fullest potential and fulfil your aspirations,” he added.

Mr Gan also launched the Public Service Commission’s Mid-Term Scholarships for medicine and dentistry for selected young talents who are currently pursuing medicine or dentistry studies locally. Applications for this scholarship, aimed at developing doctors and dentists with a strong sense of public service and leadership potential, will start from September this year.
